Used in some plumbing code areas to connect a reducing branch line into a vertical drain pipe instead of a conventional tee fitting. Also is the acceptable method of a connecting a horizontal branch pipe approaching a horizontal drain pipe on the perpendicular. Can be made from a wye and a street eighth bend. Conforms to ASTM D2661 and NSF-DWV. Accepted by FHA.
